“Each time we embrace someone warmly, we gain an extra day of life.”
“If I believe I will win, then victory will believe in me.”
“Only children believe they’re capable of everything.”
“God only allows us to see such things when he wants something to change”
For many years I was trying to find answers only through books but then I realized that basically, life is about experience and the thing that you have to do is experience life instead of only reading about it. Reading is very important, but it’s not enough. After reading, you have to take some decisions in your hands and move forward and be the human being that you are, and then going and meeting people and work.
Traditional religious practices are important. They allow us to share with others the communal experience of adoration and prayer, but we must never forget spiritual experience is above all a practical experience of love, and with love, there are no rules some may try to control their emotions and develop strategies for their behaviour, others may turn to reading books of advice from “experts” on relationships but this is all folly. The heart decides and what it decides is all that really matters.
“I have won important things for myself, but I’m going to destroy them, because I tell myself they have lost their meaning. I know that is not true. I know they are important, and that if I destroy them, I’ll be destroying myself, as well.”
“People destroy what they love.”
“When God wants to drive a person insane, he grants that person’s every wish.”
“Infatuation was a good thing. It gave spice to life, and added to its enjoyment… But it was different from love. Love was worth everything, and couldn’t be exchanged for anything.”
In a forest of a hundred thousand trees, no two leaves are alike. And no two journeys along the same path are alike.
Many of us are returning from a long journey during which we were forced to search for things that were of no interest to us. Now we realize that they were false. But this return cannot be made without pain, because we have been away for a long time and feel that we are strangers in out own land. It will take some time to find the friends who also left, and the places where our roots and treasures lie. But this will happen.
Our life is a constant journey, from birth to death. The landscape changes, the people change, our needs change, but the train keeps moving. Life is the train, not the station.
The adrenaline and stress of an adventure are better than a thousand peaceful days.
We can never judge the lives of others, because each person knows only their own pain and renunciation. It’s one thing to feel that you are on the right path, but it’s another to think that yours is the only path.
There is only one way to learn. It’s through action. Everything you need to know you have learned through your journey.
We are travelers on a cosmic journey, stardust, swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal. We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment. It is a little parenthesis in eternity.
Tragedies do happen. We can discover the reason, blame others, imagine how different our lives would be had they not occurred. But none of that is important: they did occur, and so be it. From there onward we must put aside the fear that they awoke in us and begin to rebuild
Don’t give in to your fears. If you do, you won’t be able to talk to your heart.
And one has to understand that braveness is not the absence of fear but rather the strength to keep on going forward despite the fear.
